SUPPLY LIST:  2008-2009


The closest art supply store is the Studio Art Shop at 2033 S. Pleasant Valley Road in Winchester.  Call them at 540-665-2787 for directions and information. Many of their supplies are discounted.

A   board (to attach your paper to),and art tape (for mounting paper to the board)

 Arches 140 lb. paper, cold-pressed, OR One good quality watercolor “block”

 Water container, paper towels, pencil and kneaded eraser, a spray bottle for water

 A plastic watercolor palette to place tube paints in (the Robert Woods palette is great)

Brushes: 
be sure your brushes are a good quality from an art store, not a craft store.

  • One  #8 or #9 or #10 or #12  round
  • One 1” skyscraper flat; one wash brush
  • Any fine brushes that you like for detail work (riggers, or fine round tip brushes) 

Tubes of watercolor paint: 
I prefer professional grade paints made by Windsor-Newton, Da Vinci, Holbein, Rembrandt, etc.  Buy good quality paints and paper and your product will be first rate!    Do not feel compelled to purchase special colors:  the underlined colors are required
